Sorry for the double-post, but I just had to agree with this!
Here's hoping it happens.

That attraction with the giant IMAX screens will be really awesome I'm sure!

I want that diorama.
I'll replace the people figures with Na'vi.

Spud, your dioramas are right on par with Disney's, and without spending thousands of dollars on yours. Actually, that Disney diorama is mostly just trees and vines. You recreated all of the different plants. Can't wait for that Banshee ride though!

On November 19 & 20, 2016, there will be a presentation with James Cameron and Jon Landau at a special D23 event in which Disney's "Avatar: The World of Pandora" will be discussed. I think we'll be getting some new info on latest developments and such (with how Disney Imagineering is progressing with building the attractions).

Everyone has proably already seen this, but it blows my mind. That's not CGI, that's a Disney AudioAnimatronic character from the Pandora River Ride!

And the park construction is apparently proceeding on schedule for a summer 2017 opening!

I still don't know. As much as I like the idea of actually building some places I feel like the envisioning of people in cargo shorts, socks in sandals and Bauchtaschen standign around in there alone is suhc a bummer to me. Give it to me empty and untouched, not filled with weirdly dressed people and what they leave behind.
That animatronic looks pretty impressive tough ("Was that OK?" XD )

And I am still cautious: The moment when you realise that any ride can't be that real when overweight children wearing flipflops have to be able to do it ....

I can't wait to make my reservations.
Hoping to go in January 2018 with Atokirina and my kids. Hopefully the crowds will be a lot smaller in the off-season. At least then we'll still get a trip to Pandora in 2018 instead of having to wait all the way until 2020.

Why do people like to sit in crammed, after a while unhygienic wagons that rattle over rails to subsequently make you feel bad again ?
Give me a nice, well-made museum exhibition (preferably me alone there) over such stuff all the time.
And oh how I hate crowds of any kind at any moment - especially the tourist-kind, who don't appreciate where they are or what they see and also don't want to learn anything about it. When did people became so stupid ....

The joys of living in a tourist area
Well, until I'll be able to make it that's probably gonna be after the sequels are out, I'm afraid.
Either then the crowds have dwindled down some more or I'll be completely stuck in the masses cause the sequels fire enthusiasm for Pandora up again.
I'd prefer to have the park all to myself too - but if I can't have that I'll take a Pandora full of Tawtute over no Pandora at all. I'll just have to hone my skills in ignoring others around me. Take my phone, put the soundtrack on full volume and off I go

Until that obese kid with the ever-so-slightly too small t-shirt with an utterly unfitting not-nearly-as-funny-as-it-claims decor on it spills it's ice cream over your shoes/jacket/loincloth ... and if you were just a tad day dreaming at that particular moment it's parents might just blame you for their screaming offspring.
I actually like children, but the number of stupid people is definately on the rise and america is just not a pleasant country by a long shot.

A nice replacement to the Ikran ride would be some paragliding, or hang gliding...
Maybe if I gather enough cash, who knows... If you can use some imagination once in the air... it can be quite thrilling.

I knew it ! Shapeless people in inappropiate clothing everywhere. Also: Those shorts in the tank.

If you don't want people to look for privat parts either don't od it or try ti find another solution to lead them along, but this is kinda funny.
Nice to look at so far, but can you go close without loosing the immersion? (Those pitcher plants look rather dry on the surface though - I would've expected something more shining.)

Nice piccies! I'm really impressed by that Ikran skull. You just don't get their size in the movie cause you never see them with a human
Those shorts made me grin too (I mean - how the heck should they have put them on a
growing avatar in an amnio tank during the flight?

) but I guess that's the price you have to pay for a family friendly park in the US. I liked the approach in the movie much more - a clever placement of body rotation, legs and tail.
On the other hand - If I had stood there I would have probably been way too much in "awwwwwww" mode to notice anything like that - heck, they really did an awesome job there. Those mountains with those rock bows overhead are something else and the details they put into those plants... wow!

Well
I wanted to find the picture of that Ikran noming the gunner guy out of the (very wide and in this context impractical) side opening of the Samson, but I couldn't find the right one fast enough.
So we do see a comparison at one point (but it would'nt have hurt to have a better shot with less fast movement for that ,I admit).
I jsut thought.... David Attenborough on Pandora

Well, there's been rumors that one of the movies will be a documentary about the life of Pandora.
