Use this thread to tell what you've been doing in the last few months (the blank since NB went offline).

Myself, I had a paid internship over the summer working on the business side of a transit agency here in the eastern US. In July I had a great time visit family is San Francisco. Now I am looking forward to finishing my undergraduate degree a semester early, this December.

Out of work, prepping for surgery in a few weeks, broke up with my gf and some other things...

I was, since april, working here in Nigeria, then spent 2 weeks in Germany and Netherlands (business trip), then back to Nigeria, then vacation 40 days in Serbia, at home, then now back in Nigeria till Christmas.

I came dangerously close to getting myself a hobby.

And then we got a new site. :lol:

I've retired from my regular job and am now doing sewing on the side. When I can I go boating and fishing or help out at the theaters. That has been the good part.

Now for the bad part - I've been hounding Swotu almost every day for the last six months. Pleading, begging, getting angry, being diplomatic, understanding and then back to hounding him. I only heard excuses from him and nothing being done on the site.

Finally when this site arrived I truly realized that Swotu could have done this six months ago to give us a temporary place to stay and he never did. Now I am devoting my energy to asking Swotu to hand over the files necessary to bring back many of the old threads that we all cherish.

It is clear that he does not have the time, energy or passion anymore to do the site himself. I hope he will do what is necessary to continue the wonderful legacy that is Naviblue. We'll see....

I finished up my freshman year of college, took the summer off to visit my family, and recently started my sophomore year of college.

Here it's been pretty much work... and a lot of activities on the weekends.
We actually had a Summer here, so there were a lot of barbecues, concerts and other outdoor activities going on

And I supported Lrr in her "hunt Swotu down" task - with as little success as she had.

Nothing. Then the moment summer started I started working (July 1st) - so no summer for me. At least I managed ot dip into the sea more than once this year. Nothing changed after all.

Pfff, that's nothing! Up here in the north we cut a hole in the ice and jump in!

Lol, that is just crazy... but... I wouldn't mind spending a few nights in that your Ice Hotel up north.

There was no summer here. We never went more than 2 days at a time without rain.

For me:

Late 2011:
- Mom adopted a new cat
- Bangkok flooded, evacuated to Pattaya until early December.
- Learned to fly RC planes (properly, from a professional)

2012:
- Learned to make e-books & e-magazines in Adobe Indesign. Boring
- Parents investing in real estate
- Read Ayn Rand's The Fountainhead in one go. Didn't survive Atlas Shrugged due to short attention span.

2013:
- 2 month internship at college
- Learned to take the intercity bus (Bangkok - Pattaya)
- Loosing interest in photography

Now(late 2013):
- Pre-Thesis in college (and still unsure about life)
- Committing to wallpaper business

Wow, you have been busy. What is your thesis about?

In late spring I went into remission, so went back to school and had a busy end of school-year. I passed almost all my exams with flying colors. Then I had a wonderful 2-month vacation. On September I started new school in Poznan (a Polish city about halfway between Warsaw and Berlin). It has a music profile, so it was perfect for me. But then, at the beginning of October I went to my doctor and it turned out that I was sick again. So I'm back in my hospital room, wasting time.

I've had a pretty crappy last 12 months starting with the passing of my great aunt last November and then shortly after that we had to put our cat Shadow down because he had feline leukemia. I finished college back in May and graduated with my bachelor's in accounting. I then started my new job in August which I was sad to leave the job with my dad. And it's been a really stressful time ever since because of how much I have to learn because I'm being trained as the supervisor of the particular department I'm in. All this while working to remodel a house for my brother and sister-in-law which is really starting to be a pain in the txim. And then a little over a month ago my grandpa that I was really close to passed away. I just want to get on the other side of this dark cloud that's hanging over me.

Sorry to hear about those troubles spud. Hope things get better before too long.

Well hopefully things will start to get better. Really I just want to have some free time again on the weekends. Working on customs again would be awesome.

My life has changed so much. I work, I take care of my mom, I go to bed, I get up and go to work, take care of mom (you know the rest). It is the hardest thing I have ever done. I know the people who work at the local hospital better than my co-workers. There is no time for me, and at this point I wouldn't know what to do anyways. My shoulder never healed and is now a constant pain with no end. But I have to stay strong and carry the weight, because my mom relies and lives by my being there for her. I have a wonderful husband who is my rock and keeps me together, when the pieces start falling.....

What happened with your shoulder?

She broke her collar bone awhile back.

I never broke a bone in my life, so I can only imagine how bad that can be
